Can you see the lights during the day?
The system lives in a channel that is color matched to your trim, so in daylight it reads as part of the roofline rather than a light fixture. The daytime goal is simple: your home looks like your home.
Are these permanent Christmas lights?
Yes. Many people call this permanent Christmas lights. The same LED lights stay on your roofline all year. Set them to red and green for Christmas, change the colors for any holiday, then return to warm white for everyday evenings. There is nothing to put up or take down each season.
Can I run a normal white every night?
Yes. Most homeowners run a single warm or neutral white for everyday evenings and save color for special moments. Your proposal confirms the exact white tones available on the system we install.
Can every light or section be controlled separately?
Zoning depends on the configuration we design for your home. Tell us how you want to use the system and we plan the zones around that. Your proposal spells out exactly what is controllable.
Can I schedule evenings and recurring scenes?
Scheduling is central to how these systems are used: the house lights itself on your evenings and holidays without you thinking about it. The exact scheduling features are confirmed with your proposal.
How is the track matched to my home?
We match the channel color to your fascia and trim during the design consultation, so the hardware disappears into the lines it follows.
Will the installation damage my roof or gutters?
The system mounts along the fascia and trim, not through your shingles. We confirm the exact mounting plan for your roofline during the property measurement, before anything is installed.
What happens if one light fails?
You contact North Shift and we take care of it. Coverage and the service steps are written plainly in your proposal, and you deal with the local team that installed it, not a call center.
Are the lights LED, and how long do they last?
Yes. Every light on the roofline is an LED, and the manufacturer lists an expected lifespan of 50,000 hours. That is the manufacturer's expected life for the light itself.
Does the system work in rain, snow, and cold weather?
These systems are built for exterior use in Northeast weather. The exact ratings for the hardware we install are confirmed in your proposal.
Is there a subscription fee?
Your proposal lists every cost before you commit, including whether the app has any optional paid features. No surprises after installation.
What does the warranty cover?
Ask for written product and installation warranty terms before booking. Your proposal states exactly what that covers for the hardware we install.
What affects the project price?
Roofline footage, the number of elevations, access, zones, controller needs, and the complexity of your architecture. Your proposal breaks the number down so you can see what drives it.
Can I see the design before I commit?
Yes. Upload one exterior photo in the Design Studio and North Shift creates a recommended lighting concept for your own home. It is a design concept you refine with us, not a final construction drawing.
